IVCC’s Career Services uses an on-line job resource system. Career Services administers this site and we use it as our primary communication tool for those we assist. It is a free resource and available to IVCC students, alumni and residents of the IVCC district. Most importantly, it is a resource system, not just another job board. To start, please log-on to our online job board: www.collegecentral.com/ivcc .
RÉSUMÉ MANAGEMENT:
On the dashboard menu list, click the ‘My Résumé’ link. You may upload your current résumé or select “build my résumé” to create a résumé from scratch - follow the instructions, remember to preview the results before submitting. Whether you upload or build your résumé, be sure to review the Résumé Authorization. Remember: you control over who may - or may not – view you résumé. [The same is true if you choose to create an electronic portfolio.]
SEARCHING FOR JOBS:
- Click on the ‘Search - My School's Jobs’ in the dashboard menu list to View ALL jobs posted exclusively to IVCC’s site.
- Use the Advanced Search for additional criteria such as Job ID, Degree, Location, School Job ID, and Job Targets. Adding ‘IVCC’ to the School Job ID field OR using the JOB LOCATION and distance feature will help filter out postings that are outside of the IVCC district to keep close to home.
RESOURCES on your DASHBOARD:
In addition to the Career Document Library (with one-page/in a nutshell info), there is a Media Library. The videos and podcasts are topic specific and fairly short and to the point. There is access to the Headlines with online issues that are very informative too.
