Create Your Preferred Sections List

Your preferred sections list contains the courses you will be registering for when registration opens. You need to set up this list before you register--it's like placing your courses in your online shopping cart.

Below are two methods for creating your preferred sections list:

  • Express Registration—Use this method if you know your course names, course numbers, and section numbers.
  • Search and Register for Sections—Use this method if you do not know the course numbers and/or section numbers.

Express Registration

  1. Log in to WebAdvisor
  2. Select the blue "Students" menu bar
  3. Select "Register for Sections"
  4. Select "Express registration"
  5. Enter the required course information for each course:
      Synonym:  Leave this field empty
      Subject:  Select the subject abbreviation
      Course Number:  Enter the course number
      Section Number:  Enter the section number
      Term:  Select the desired term
  6. Submit
  7. You have added these courses to your Preferred Sections list
  8. To register your preferred sections, go to Register with WebAdvisor

Search and Register for Sections

  1. Log in to WebAdvisor
  2. Select the blue "Students" menu bar
  3. Select "Register for Sections"
  4. Select "Search and register for sections"
  5. Enter the following information for each course:
      Term:  Select the desired term
      Subject:  Select the subject abbreviation
      Course Number:  If known, enter the course number
  6. Submit
  7. Check the corresponding boxes for your preferred courses/sections
  8. Submit
  9. You have added these courses to your Preferred Sections list
  10. To register your preferred sections, go to Register with WebAdvisor
