Viewing Feedback in Brightspace

Instructors often provide feedback on your coursework. See below for the instructions on viewing feedback in each navbar link.

Viewing your Grades

To view feedback in Grades:

  1. Access the course where you wish to view your grades.
  2. From the navbar, click the Grades link.
    • From here, you can see how many points you have received versus possible points, grades, overall feedback, and if a graded rubric was used for each task assigned by your instructor.
    • If there is more than one submission for the assignment or quiz, you can view the feedback for each submission. 
  3.  If your Instructor added annotated feedback to the assignment, click View Inline Feedback. The annotation view opens in a new tab, displaying annotated feedback using highlighting, freehand drawing, shapes, ands commenting. 
  4. If your Instructor chose to use a rubric for the task assigned, click the View Graded Rubric link to open the rubric in a pop-up window.

Viewing Feedback in Discussions

To view feedback in Discussions:

  1. Access the course where you wish to view your discussions feedback.
  2. From the navbar, click the Discussions link.
  3. Click on the discussion topic you want to review feedback for.
  4. You can read the feedback from your instructor in the Feedback section below the discussion's description.
  5. Below the discussion's description, click the View Graded Rubric link to open the rubric in a pop-up window.                                                                       NOTE: You will only see this option if your instructor added a rubric for grading discussions. 
  6. Click the Close button once you have finished reviewing your feedback.

Viewing Feedback in Assignments

To view feedback in Assignments:

  1. Access the course where you wish to view your assignment feedback.
  2. From the navbar, click the Assignments link.
  3. Click on the assignment you want to view feedback for,
  4. From the Assignments page, click Unread in the Evaluation Status column for your assignment. 
  5. From the View Feedback page, you can view your submission feedback, rubric assessment, and grade. 
  6. If your instructor added annotated feedback to the assignment, click View Inline Feedback. The annotation view opens in a new tab, displaying annotated feedback using highlighting, freehand drawing, shapes, and commenting.
  7. To download the annotated assignment as a PDF, click Download.
  8. When you are finished viewing your feedback, navigate back to the View Feedback page and click Done

Viewing Feedback in Quizzes

Check with your instructor to see if they allow viewing feedback after a quiz.

To view feedback in Quizzes: 

  1. Access the course where you wish to view your quiz feedback.
  2. From the navbar, click the Quizzes link.
  3. Click in the quiz you want to view feedback for. 
  4. You can review feedback in two ways. Do one of the following options:
    1. Click the drop-down menu next to the quiz title and select Submissions.
    2. Click the Unread link in the Evaluation Status Column.
  5. If you click on any of your quiz attempts, you will see a report based on how your instructor has set up the review process. 

Viewing your Course Progress

The Class Progress link helps track your progress in a course by measuring the completion of different progress indicators. You may want to use the Class Progress link to keep track of your course-specific assignments and feedback. Instructors can use the Class Progress link to track your overall progress in the course and prepare progress reports.

Progress reports are available for the following progress indicators: Summary, Grades, Standards or Learning Outcomes, Objectives, Content, Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, Checklist, Surveys, Login History or Course Access, and System Access History.

To view your course progress in the Class Progress link:

  1. From the navbar, click Class Progress
  2. To view details of your progress within each category, click the Expand icon.
