Plan Your Degree & Schedule Your Courses

Plan Your Degree and schedule your courses is placing your courses in your plan in preparation of registration--like placing your courses in your "shopping cart."

Remember to visit Counseling to be sure you are staying on path for your certificate, degree, transfer, or if you are contemplating a career change.

In IVCC Self-Service, there are a few different ways to place your courses in your plan. See below.

Add Courses to Plan by Catalog Advanced Search

If you receive the blue form from your counselor, you can:

  1. Go to IVCC Self-Service
  2. Log in (If you need help with logging in, see IVCC Self-Service Information)
  3. Choose Course Catalog
  4. Select Term
  5. Choose the Subject, enter the course number and section number for each class
  6. Scroll down and click Search
  7. Click Add next to your course, then click Add Section for each course

You can see the course(s) has been added to your plan with the yellow Planned message. See Plan Your Degree below to verify the classes are in your plan.

Add Courses to Plan by Subject Search

If you met with your counselor but do not remember the section of the course or need to look for a different meeting time for the course, you can:

  1. Go to IVCC Self-Service
  2. Log in (If you need help with logging in, see IVCC Self-Service Information)
  3. Choose Course Catalog
  4. Select Subject Search
  5. Choose the course subject
  6. Locate the course subject and course number and click to View Available Sections for the course
  7. Find the correct semester and click Add Section to Schedule, then click Add Section

See Plan Your Degree below to verify the classes are in your plan.

Plan Your Degree

To verify that your courses are in your plan or to verify if your counselor added the courses to your plan:

  1. Go to IVCC Self-Service
  2. Log in (If you need help with logging in, see IVCC Self-Service Information)
  3. Choose Student Planning
  4. Choose #2 Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes
  5. Select Timeline
  6. Use the arrows to move to the appropriate semester to see your courses

To see your schedule in a week grid:

  1. Go to IVCC Self-Service
  2. Log in (If you need help with logging in, see IVCC Self-Service Information)
  3. Choose Student Planning
  4. Choose #2 Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes
  5. Use the arrows to move to the appropriate semester
  6. You will find your courses listed on the left with your week schedule grid on the right.  Scroll down to the bottom to see a list of your online courses.
