The Tutoring and Writing Center (TWC) provides free tutoring for Illinois Valley Community College and high school students both in person and online during drop-in hours or by appointment. The TWC has professional and peer tutors. Tutor subjects and schedules are posted in the Tutoring and Writing Center (A-201) and on the TWC website. Typical tutoring sessions are 45-60 minutes. Student and tutor responsibilities are delineated in this document. Students are responsible for the grades they earn. Tutors will respect differences in learning styles, backgrounds, and cultural experiences. This document also provides information on the Center for Accessibility and Neurodiversity, uncomfortable situations, and academic integrity. A list of resources for faculty and staff is also provided. Procedures for scheduling tutors for drop-in and appointment hours are included as well.
