CAD 4 Kids!

Experience the digital design world and bring your ideas to life! Join us for this
hands-on computer aided design (CAD) class where students will be introduced to professional-level
modeling software that will allow them to create all types of unique designs and projects. Students will then be given a final project that they will have the opportunity to
print, using IVCC’s state of the art 3D printer! [1 week-4 sessions]

YouTube® Content Creators

Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixty, it’s
time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and
personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the dos
and don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your
on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take
home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! Student
projects will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with
friends and family. [1 week-4 sessions]

Design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs! Begin your rise to
the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today’s top artists,
you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a
digital composer and sound engineer. In this course, students will learn to produce
digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Student-created soundtracks will be available
on a password protected website to share with friends and family. [1 week-4 sessions]

With the world’s increased reliance on digital data, cyber security is more important
than ever! In this class you are all that stands between a group of international
hackers launching cyber-attacks and world peace. Through a series of challenges, students
will learn to apply tools used by professional digital forensics teams to crack codes
and use encryption. Working in teams you will collect clues, recover lost data and
explore the tools of the trade to become the next great cyber spy! [1 week-4 sessions]

Imagination Animation
[Ages: 9-12] Class ID: 9585
Calling all budding filmmakers! Are you familiar with films and cartoons using stop
motion animation? You’ll learn the ‘behind the scenes’ animation process. Starting
with a storyboard plan, students will build characters using a variety of materials
and film their actions frame by frame with a digital camera. You will learn the basic
techniques and processes of media production. The finished product will amaze you
when you learn how easy it is to do. A group project will be produced and you will
take home a copy of your first feature film. [1 week-4 sessions]
