Fundamentals of Fabrication
This customized course is a blend of lecture and lab which will cover the basic fabrication skills in order to safely and accurately create prototypes. Participants will focus on shop safety, safe tool use, measurement and measuring devices, blue print reading, shearing, bending and rolling, along with press brake use and safety. You will also practice hands on training using saw and plasma materials, as well as completing a project in which you will make your own tool box. The first 3 sessions will be held at IVCC, in Oglesby, and the last 3 will be held at Streator High School. This course has been approved by a select group of manufacturers in Streator, IL as a preferred course and will enhance your chances for hire with these local companies.

Students should come to class with safety glasses, long pants, closed toe shoes and leather gloves. CEU: 1.8
