Requirements for the Emphasis in Global Studies
In order to earn the Emphasis in Global Studies, a student must:
Complete 2 semesters of a transfer-level World Language Course or 4 years of a high school language with a C grade or higher.
Complete 15 Credit Hours of approved Global Studies Courses that are listed as “Internationalized” on the Global Studies Website with a grade of C or higher.
Meet with the Coordinator of International/Multicultural Education to review courses and enroll in the program.
Upon completion of these requirements, students will meet with the Coordinator for a final review of courses and to fill out a request that the Emphasis be added to the student’s co-curricular transcript.
- Students who are graduating will receive a red honor’s cord to wear at graduation
- All students will receive a certificate of completion of the Emphasis

The Emphasis is FREE and available to any IVCC student who meets the requirements.
