CompTIA CySA+ Boot Camp FAQs
What do cybersecurity analysts do?
Cybersecurity analysts (CSAs) are a popular job title for those holding a CySA+ certification.
It's a great entry point for newcomers to the field, with around half of all cybersecurity
analysts having entered the field within the last four years. CSAs use analytical
tools to design security solutions, detect and respond to security incidents, and
analyze risks. They identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate cyberattacks
and take proactive measures to protect against malicious events.
Why should I earn the CySA+ certification?
The CompTIA CySA+ certification is a highly respected, in-demand certification for
mid-level cybersecurity professionals. It appears on the U.S. Department of Defense’s
approved list to meet Directive 8570.01-M requirements. It complies with Federal Information
Security Management Act (FISMA) regulations and is considered a baseline certification
for five profession categories.
The CySA+ certification will show employers that you have the knowledge and skills needed to mitigate risk and combat threats that may attack networks or devices through continuous security monitoring. It is the only mid-level certification of its kind—testing both knowledge and hands-on practical ability.
When can I start this course?
You can register for the boot camp whenever you are ready. Our team will help you
select the session that will best fit you.
What kind of support will I receive?
The boot camp instructor will be available during the session to answer any questions.
You will also have access to the Infosec Skills platform, where you will be able to
create support requests as needed.
Do cybersecurity analysts code?
Most entry-level cybersecurity jobs do not require coding skills. However, as you
gain experience and move up in your cybersecurity career into mid-and upper-level
positions, you may find it necessary to have some knowledge of coding.
How long is the CySA+ certification valid after passing the exam?
Your certification is valid for three years and will need to be renewed at the end
of this period. To ensure that your skills remain up to date, you must earn 60 CEUs
during each three-year renewal period, pass the CySA+ exam again or a qualifying higher-level
industry certification exam, or complete CertMaster CE training courses.
What are common job titles for CySA+ certification holders?
Common positions for CySA+ certified professionals include security operations (SOC)
analyst, vulnerability analyst, information security analyst, cybersecurity specialist,
threat intelligence analyst, security engineer, and cybersecurity analyst.
Registration, Prerequisites, and Requirements
This boot camp is intended for cybersecurity analysts, vulnerability analysts, cybersecurity
specialists, or anyone interested in building their skills as an analyst.
