Mens Golf to hold open house/fundraiser this month

Illinois Valley Community College’s Men’s Golf Team will host an open house at the Deer Park Golf Club on January 25 to raise money to travel to Southern Missouri for a pre-season warmup competition.

The event starts at 7 p.m. and will include 50/50 raffles, drinks and appetizers, and virtual-golf contests.

“This is our first fundraiser for our program, but it has been well received and we are expecting a great night,” said Coach Nate Rodriguez. IVCC supporters, the Illinois Valley golf community and IVCC golf alumni are invited to attend.

The Missouri trip will give the team a chance to be competitive before the golfers begin regional play, Rodriguez said.

Deer Park Golf Club is located at 100 Deer Park Lane east of Oglesby on Illinois Route 71.
