IVCC DEI Writing Contest

Illinois Valley Community College’s President’s Office, in support of the College’s DEI Committee, is sponsoring the annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Writing Contest. The annual contest invites all IVCC students to submit written entries in any format (essay, poetry, short story, etc.) that address or share the student’s experience with any aspect of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Entries are evaluated on insight into diversity, equity and inclusion and technical skill. Submissions may be made in any writing style in an attachment to Tracy_Morris@ivcc.edu by Friday, February 21st and winners will be announced in March. The first-place winner will be invited to share their work at the spring Academic Awards Ceremony in April and all three winners will be invited to attend the ceremony to be recognized. Please include your name and phone number with the submission. Questions may be directed to the President’s Office in C-300.
