Turnitin Resources for Faculty
Turnitin for Plagiarism Detection
Turnitin is a plagiarism detection/ prevention tool that compares student submissions to a large database of documents which includes other student submissions, library databases, academic works, and a vast number of internet sources. Turnitin is integrated within Brightspace and may be enabled for assignment submissions with several options.
The Turnitin similarity report will provide a percentage for each submission which represents the percentage of the document which matches other sources along with the referenced sources. Turnitin also has an annotation tool that can be used to annotate student submissions and leave voice recordings of instructor feedback.
Turnitin also has an AI detection tool and students have access to Turnitin Draftcoach in Microsoft Word online that allows them to check their work before turning in an assignment.
