What is Computer Networking?

Computer networking is the process of connecting computers in order to share information and resources. The shared resources include computers, printers, and data files. IVCC’s Computer Networking program offers a hands-on approach to learning. Students work with state-of-the art technology in labs that are an integral part of their classes. During these classes, students act as network administrators for their own company. In the final semester, students complete an internship that allows them to work in area businesses gaining real world experience in the networking field.

Multiple Program Options

Students can earn either a Computer Network Administration AAS degree or a Certificate in Computer Networking. These instructional programs prepare students to evaluate and resolve business data system hardware and software communication requirements.

Hands on Training and Experience

Courses in the Computer Networking program are offered in a face-to-face, online and blended format to meet the needs of our traditional and adult student populations. In the final semester of the program students participate in an internship that allows them to work in area businesses gaining real world experience in the networking field. Students experience small class sizes taught by dedicated instructors who provide both mentoring and advising
