Meet Our IVCC-based Counselors:
Stephanie Castañeda-Arteaga, LPC Program Director and Therapist
We go through life trying to make sense of it all; the good, the bad, and the ugly cries in between. You do not have to do this alone. Whatever life throws at us, it is important that we stay balanced, healthy, and true to ourselves. I believe we all have the ability to find the power within ourselves to overcome any of life’s obstacles, even if we need some assistance in finding that strength. That is why I am here! You are driving the bus and I can help you navigate through the trenches!
I graduated from Dominican University with a Clinical Psychology Bachelor’s degree and graduated from Adler University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience in working for community mental health agencies, hospitals, and school-based case management.
I have also been trained in crisis and suicide prevention (Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths). I have provided services to children as young as 5 years old to 75 years old.
Let’s tackle life’s obstacles by taking one step at a time. If that first step is to make an appointment to start therapy, just know that I understand it takes a lot of courage doing so! You got this!

Briana Booker, MSW Clinical Intern
“Every person is born with a seed of greatness.”
~ Myles Munroe
One single sunflower can be grown and nourished enough to produce over one thousand seeds. If you relate this to our healing journey, the seeds can represent our thoughts. Each seed, if properly addressed and nourished, can have the potential to evolve and blossom into a strong, bright and tall sunflower one day.
Through using evidence-based practices, Briana partners with clients on their journey to help water these seeds as they reclaim their purpose and connect with their higher version of themselves. Briana has a background in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and social work with strong interests in holistic, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based approaches. Briana is devoted to incorporating these approaches when assessing potential mental, physical, and spiritual factors that may impact a person’s well-being. Briana can effectively connect and communicate through her work that she does with her clients from a nonjudgmental and benevolent lens that fosters a relaxed, trusted, and safe environment for all.
