GAF donates to IVCC Foundation to support student electricians
GAF has donated $5,000 to the Illinois Valley Community College Foundation to fund an annual scholarship for students pursuing careers as electricians. The gift will provide two scholarships each year, helping students manage the cost of tuition and related expenses.
"GAF is proud to support IVCC students through this scholarship," said Gary Ashley, GAF-Peru plant manager. "We recognize the financial challenges many students face, and this partnership is one way we can help them achieve their goals. Supporting the communities where we live and work is a core part of who we are at GAF."
This collaboration is part of GAF's social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient communities.
"When businesses invest in scholarships through the IVCC Foundation, they are not just giving back - they are shaping the future workforce and strengthening communities," said Tracy Beattie, Executive Director of the Foundation. "We are deeply grateful to GAF and the many businesses that so generously support our students and their futures."
The scholarships will be available for the 2025-26 school year.
GAF is North America's largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, with 31 locations across the country, including Peru, where it recently opened a commercial roofing manufacturing plant.
