Pistol Shrimp theme night honors IVCC's 100th
A theme night at the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp game May 31 will be a chance to honor Illinois Valley Community College’s 100th birthday, raise money for the IVCC Foundation and enjoy the historic national pastime.
The game is free to the community, but VIP options such as a party patio section and special seating are available, with proceeds benefitting the Foundation, said Tracy Beattie, Executive Director of the IVCC Foundation. Proceeds from a 50/50 raffle that night will also go to the Foundation.
“It’s a special night to honor IVCC’s 100 Years of Excellence and enjoy baseball with the Pistol Shrimp,” Beattie said.
VIP tickets that include entry to the party patio section for refreshments and a buffet meal must be purchased by May 10. VIP tickets include patio admission, sectioned off grandstand seating, and a buffet-style picnic meal, with water, lemonade, and soda served throughout the game.
A $30-per-person VIP ticket to the patio party includes three drink tickets redeemable at the beer or stadium concession stand. A $22-per-person VIP ticket includes water, lemonade, and soda, no additional drinks. Children under 5 are admitted free.
Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.ivcc.edu/pistolshrimp.
The Pistol Shrimp face the Clinton (Iowa) Lumberkings that evening. Game starts at 7:05 p.m. at Schweickert Stadium, Plank Road, Peru. Eagles baseball fans have a chance to see IVCC’s Johnny Riva in his first season with the Pistol Shrimp.
