Board of Trustees planning committee meets
The Illinois Valley Community College Board of Trustees Planning Committee on Thursday reviewed the policy creation and adoption process and set its agenda over the next few months.
College President Dr. Tracy Morris outlined the committee schedule for review and
presentation to the full Board, and said policies going forward will be reviewed on
a four-year rotation. With that schedule in mind, the committee will meet once more
this year before Board action to have some updates in place by January 2024.
She also plans to make updates and changes available for viewing on a campus network
drive.
Of two policies under review Thursday, a chronic communicable diseases policy saw little change but an animals-on-campus policy was redrawn to clearly define service animals and emotional support animals and govern their presence.
Dr. Morris also outlined the committee’s role in ongoing comprehensive, strategic, master facility and succession planning, and briefed the committee on the progress on each.
