Computer basics course begins Sept. 23

A “Computer Basics and Internet Safety” course will be offered by Illinois Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center in September.

The four-session class meets from 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays Sept. 23 through Oct. 14 in Room A323. The course features basic Windows 10 tools including My Computer, Recycle Bin, ways to customize your desktop and how to run multiple programs and use shortcuts.

In addition, participants will install programs, check their hard disk drive, delete and restore files and change mouse settings. An internet overview and safety practices will be covered.

Instructor Doreen Balzarini will work at a comfortable pace. A textbook is required and can be purchased at https://www.ivccbookstore.com/category/10002562. Cost of the course, ID number 5506, is $129.
