Make-Up and Accommodated Testing

IVCC Student Testing at the Assessment Center

Students can come to the Assessment Center to make-up a test for a class that they missed, if they have test accommodations, or to take an test for an online course.

Making an Appointment

If you need to make an appointment in the Assessment Center, you can do on RegisterBlast, by calling the Assessment Center (815-224-0542), or by coming in the office (A-210). To schedule in RegisterBlast, select the Oglesby Campus as the group, then IVCC Student - Proctored Exams. Select your exam time (1, 2, or 3 hours - if you aren't sure, just select 2 hours), pick your date and time (be aware of the Assessment Center hours!), and enter some information about you and the test you're taking. Once you fill out all the fields, click "Add to Cart" and "Complete Registration" on the next page. There are no fees for IVCC student testing.

After you've made your appointment, be sure to let your instructor know the date and time that you plan on taking your test in the Assessment Center. Your instructor will have to send the test information to the Assessment Center, so it is important that they know when you've made your appointment. Instructors should use the Instructor Test Form to send any relevant test information to the Assessment Center. Appointments should be made 24-hours ahead of time, ensuring that both the Assessment Center and your instructor have your exam and all relevant information prepared for your test appointment. If the Assessment Center has not received information from your instructor by the time of your scheduled appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.

What to Expect at the Assessment Center

When it is time for you to take your test, arrive to the Assessment Center around five minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Be sure to bring a valid form of photo ID! Photo IDs are required for all testing appointments, and must be unexpired, include your first and last names, and a picture. Testers who do not bring a valid ID at the time of their appointment will be asked to reschedule. You'll be given a locker to store all of your belongings (personal items, food, drinks, and other unauthorized materials are not allowed into the testing room) and seated at a computer workstation for your exam. Pencils, scratch paper (if allowed by your instructor), and disposable earplugs will be provided for you.

Accommodations

If you have accommodations for testing through the Center for Accessibility and Neurodiversity (CAN) Office, be sure to let the Assessment Center know when you make your appointment so we can ensure that all proper accommodations are provided for you.
