Alumni and Community Services
IVCC’s Career Services Department assists IVCC alumni and the community members of the Illinois Valley Community College District.
Our goal is to build connections by providing resources for all aspects of the job search - - along with access to online systems with tools to create online portfolios and a résumé builder.
College Central Network (CCN)
IVCC's on-line job resource system - powered by College Central Network - is a FREE job and internship posting system. Our department administers the site and we use it as our primary communication tool for those we assist.
This resource is available to IVCC students, alumni and residents of the IVCC district
as well as for the direct hire employers within our community.

We also offer information and resources with other useful tools for self-assessment, career exploration and all topics related to the job search process.
Career Resource Center
The Career Resource Center is a three-station computer lab and printer designated entirely to support the job search process. The Center is staffed daily during regular business hours to provide hands-on assistance with resumes and cover letters, and to assist visitors with accessing career planning and labor market information via the Internet. The Center is located within the Career Services area.
Identify your skills and receive personalized career and educational recommendations. Sometimes the perfect match is something you would have never thought of! Explore new career areas that need your unique skill set or learn how to level-up in your current career.
Skills are becoming the new language of the labor market. SkillsMatch takes data from
millions of job postings and finds the skills employers are seeking. Skills can then
form a common language for learners to evaluate how well they may fit into a particular
career area and what education will best prepare them for a desired outcome.
Personality and interest-based inventories are available to aid in the decision-making process and in selecting educational programs. There are several on-line career assessment and exploration tools that provide an individualized assessment utilizing interest-based career matching software and occupational information. They may be accessed via the internet from school or home and are our most valuable and suggested career decision-making resource.
Contact Career Services for a personalized listing of resources or to schedule an
appointment to reserve the Career Resource Center for one-on-one assistance with the
job search process.
