HSE Testing Information (GED® Test)
GED Test Eligibility Requirements
Visit Illinois Community College Board website for GED testing eligibility requirements.
The official GED tests to obtain an Illinois High School Diploma are given at official
test centers throughout Illinois. Our district's testing site is the IVCC Assessment Center. Prior to the test date, students must register for the test by visiting the official
GED Testing website and creating a test account. Passing all parts of the GED® Test along with completion
or submission of a Constitution Test will earn testers an Illinois High School Diploma.
This diploma is issued from the Regional Office of Education in the county of which
the tester resided at the time of test completion.
Constitution Test Requirement
In addition to the GED subtests, Illinois residents are required to pass an examination
on American patriotism and the principles of representative government as enunciated
in the American Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States
of America, and the Constitution of the State of Illinois, as well as on the proper
use and display of the American Flag as provided by Section 27-3 of The School Code of Illinois.
Constitution Testing is free. Call Cindy at 815-224-0358 for more information on how to meet this requirement.
