Academic Awards Ceremony

To be named a McCormack Scholar, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.75 or higher while carrying 14 or more semester hours of college-level coursework in each of the first three semesters of enrollment.

A panel of English faculty review essay submissions from ENG 0900, 1001, & 1002 and present awards for exceptional writing.

Students earned honors designation on their transcript for two consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment in college-level coursework while earning a GPA of 3.25 or higher.  Example: If you received honors designation while enrolled full-time in college-level coursework in 2019 Spring & 2019 Fall, you would receive an invitation to this ceremony.

Students earned honors designation on their transcript for three consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment in college-level coursework while earning a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Example: If you received honors designation while enrolled full-time in college-level coursework in 2018 Fall, 2019 Spring, & 2019 Fall, you would receive an invitation to this ceremony.

Students might receive this distinction if they qualify for Phi Theta Kappa membership by earning and maintaining a 3.50 grade point average and demonstrating leadership ability.

The ceremony should conclude around 7:30 pm.
