Log in to your accounts and learn how to use them. New students should use the Student Technology Checklist (PDF) before classes begin.
About your username

Your new IVCC email address will serve as your primary login and your IVCC provided student email address. It will be in the format of K#@ivcc.edu.

WHEN ARE USERNAMES CREATED? Student usernames are created 24-72 business hours after applying to IVCC.

WHEN ARE USERNAMES DEACTIVATED? If you have not taken classes at IVCC in three years, your username will be deactivated and you will need to reapply. You will always have the same K# and Student ID#, but you will need to reactivate your username to log in to IVCC accounts.
Find your K#
Your K# is used in your IVCC username for your student accounts. Your K# begins with a K

If you applied to IVCC through our application portal:

Your acceptance letter sent to you personal email and your home address.

Your registration statement (i.e. billing statement)

Go to Forgot Username, and complete the fields using your name and personal email address as listed with Records.

If you do not have an account in the application portal, an acceptance letter, an ID card, or have problems with Self-Service Forgot Username, contact Admissions and Records at 815-224-0447, or email AdmissionsRecords@ivcc.edu.
Find your Student ID#
Your ID# is used in your initial Eagle password and should be kept private. The ID# is 7 digits in length and is different than the K#.

IVCC Self-Service
Self-Service is an online portal where students independently manage their academic and administrative records. Students can register for classes, view class schedules, set up payment plans, view financial aid information, view grades and transcripts.

Student email/Microsoft 365 apps
As an IVCC student, you have a free Outlook email account that is part of Microsoft 365 Copilot. As a student you can access programs like Word, Excel. PowerPoint and more for free.
- All new students will have access 24 hours after registering for credit courses at IVCC.

Brightspace is the learning management system used for hosting online course materials for IVCC academic courses. Most in-person classes will use Brightspace as well.
Classes will be visible in Brightspace on the first day of the semester. Instructors may choose to open their courses earlier at their own discretion. You must reach out to your instructor with concerns or questions.
How do I log in to a computer on campus?
To log in to a computer on campus, use your K#@ivcc.edu email address for the username and your Eagle mail password.
Note: you will be locked out for 10 minutes after 5 unsuccessful login attempts. See resetting your Eagle password.
Classroom Ready
Be prepared for class by making sure you have the textbooks or courseware required, software to take online exams, and other learning technologies.
To Log In To eCampus Online Bookstore:
- Visit the IVCC eCampus Online Bookstore
- Select Shop by Schedule
- Choose Sign in via Your School Account
- Enter your Eagle Mail Login (if you are logged in to another IVCC program, you will automatically signed in)
How to locate my Inclusive Access materials
- Log in to Brightspace
- Choose the correct course
- Click on Content in the Purple Navbar
- Look for the eCampus Inclusive Access link
- If you are unsure where to find your materials within your course, contact your instructor.

Devices, Browsers, Software, and Apps
As an IVCC student, you may have questions about what type of devices, browsers, software, and apps you may need for classes.

Printing
Printing is available on campus and is free to students. You may print from any campus computer or from your personal laptop.

Online Learning
CSP-0002 Orientation to Distance Learning is a required, non-credit course that must be completed prior to taking your first online course.

Online Testing
How does online testing work?
- Visit online testing and make sure to plan ahead.
Proctored Exams
An online proctored exam is a test taken remotely on your computer and is monitored to prevent cheating.
- For Pearson Respondus or Respondus Lockdown Browser, visit Respondus Lockdown Browser
- Pearson Respondus is a specific version of Respondus Lockdown Browser that is tailored to Pearson's digital learning platforms like MyLab. If you are taking a math course, you may be required to download Pearson Respondus even if you already have the standard Lockdown Browser installed for other courses at IVCC.
- If you are taking accounting course, you may be required to download the Proctorio
extension. Check with your instructor for which version you need and visit Get Proctorio.
- Select 'Click here to install the Extension'
- Navigate to your exam and begin
Zoom for Students
Zoom is a video conferencing platform used by instructors for remote classes and office hours.
Joining a Zoom meeting
Your instructor may provide a link to Zoom in Brightspace or in an email. If the meeting requires authentication you will need to sign in using SSO (Single sign on).

Recording Presentations
Microsoft Teams and Zoom are available to all IVCC students for free and provide easy ways to record presentations.
